Term 2 in 3rd Class

11th May 2025

Term 2 was a very busy and enjoyable one!

Camogie:

We started camogie with Anthony. He taught us a lot of new skills and we really enjoyed it.

International Women’s Day:

We celebrated international Women’s Day doing projects on women we thought were inspiring. Everyone showed them to the class. Some people did them on card, some on Powerpoints and some on Bookcreator. We loved sharing our projects with the class.

Engineer’s Week:

For Engineer’s Week we made little people with skis with our buddies in Juniors. Then we went down to the halla where we tested them on ramps using the tables!

Dancing:

We did dancing with Megan and we learned hip hop, break dancing, acro and a bit of ballet.

Drama:

Karen began drama lessons with us. We’ve been working in small groups and learning how to project our voices, take on the role of lots of different characters and build our confidence. We will be doing a play called ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’.

Art with Gabby:

We also had a few art lessons with Gabby. She taught us how to express our feelings with a pencil and how to make different textures with paint and pencils.

Friendship Week:

We did lots of activities for Friendship Week. We loved dancing to music played over the intercom every day and making up obstacle courses for our buddies in Juniors.

World Book Day:

We dressed up as characters from our favourite books. We had a fashion show in our classroom to show off the characters we chose and we took photos with our books.

We also celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge with amhrán agus damhsa sa halla, a paráid to the village and a seó faisin sa seomra ranga. We wrote recipes when we learned about procedural writing and then made pizzas afterwards! We really enjoyed taking part in team relays with balloons. We learned all about Internet Safety and had a competition to celebrate Internet Safety Day, where we designed posters about the importance of staying safe online.
